Ceremonial Singing

I bring singing into ceremonies, a moment of deepening, joy, relaxation, expansion.

Whether you are celebrating a wedding, marking a rite of passage are saying goodbye or have a gathering for a spiritual ceremony, song has the power to open hearts and connect everyone present in a way that words alone cannot.

I can sing a piece you have chosen,a classical aria, a beloved song, or I can offer one of my own channeled songs. Sometimes I tune into the atmosphere of the moment and let sound emerge without words, a living soundscape that holds the space, follows what is present, and carries people deeper into the experience.

And if you like, I can also invite people to join. When voices come together in song, something shifts. People who were standing apart suddenly feel connected, through the sound, with each other. I also offer singing for more meditative ceremonies, gatherings where the intention is not celebration, but expansion. Coming together to dissolve into the field of oneness, where the song becomes a doorway.

Would you like me to come and sing at your ceremony?

There's something magical about the repetition of a simple phrase, often what matters most is the vibration behind the words rather than the words themselves. This simplicity also makes it easy to sing a second musical line without rehearsing. Simply by relaxing into the sound, your musical intuition opens up.

Practical Information

I begin with a guided meditation to settle into your body and breath. Then we sing mantras together, with quiet pauses between each one. As the singing fades, we rest together in deep meditation. The simplicity of the mantras is also reflected in the accompaniment. I play solo and unamplified on the harmonium, ukulele, drums or N'goni.

The whole experience is one flowing meditation,a gentle invitation to discover the peace and joy that lives within you.
